On Hip-Hop, Hong Kong, and Social Justice Education in the Asia-Pacific Rim

Please join us at 4:30 in the Faculty Center on Tuesday, February 25th for the Spring 2020 Global Spotlight Lecture. In this presentation, Dr. Chang will discuss his work on social justice education for the past 5 years in Greater China. Utilizing an approach informed by cultural studies, critical feminist theory, sociocultural learning, and community organising, he will present on some highlights of his efforts and collaborations with minoritized communities towards educational equity through capacities as a teacher, researcher, and hip-hop artist. In addition, intersectional connections will be made to the current protest movements in Hong Kong, as well as racial justice work with students, activists, and educators in the US.
